TOGA: CONTROL AND DISRUPTION
Led by Claire Grech, Bumble and bumble created strong, undone hair for TOGA. Deep side parts and sleek, close-set ponytails gave the women’s looks a sharp silhouette, while loose strands softened the finish. For the men, natural movement and a defined, wet-look texture brought a grungier feel.
GET THE LOOK: THE SLEEK PONYTAIL
1. Create a clean, deep side part on the left.
2. Work Thickening Spray through the hair, adding a little water to distribute it evenly. Apply Thickening High Drama™ Mousse through the crown for control.
3. Blow-dry the hair straight and close to the head, directing it back from the part. Sweep the front behind the ear.
4. Secure a low ponytail and straighten the ends. Leave a few strands loose around the hairline for an undone finish.
FASHION EAST: TEXTURE IN MOTION
Led by Lachlan Mackie, Bumble and bumble created individual looks for Fashion East’s three designers. Goyagoma’s hair was clean and natural, Mé Mé’s had lived-in glamour, and Jacek Gleba’s brought sun-kissed, windswept texture to the runway.
GET THE LOOK: JACEK GLEBA’S WINDSWEPT HAIR
1. Section the hair at the crown and secure it with clips to create lift at the roots.
2. Work Thickening Spray into the roots at the crown for body and support.
3. Blow-dry the clipped sections to create loose, natural movement. Keep the shape irregular rather than forming defined waves.
4. Remove the clips and work Surf Spray through the lengths for texture and grip. Scrunch the hair to bring out its natural movement. For shorter hair, direct it forwards.
5. Finish with Spray de Mode hairspray to hold the windswept shape while keeping the movement soft.
GOYAGOMA: EXPENSIVE, CLEAN & NATURAL
For Traiceline Pratt’s Goyagoma, the hair was expensive, clean and natural. The finish was refined but never overly styled, with an emphasis on healthy looking texture and a clean silhouette. Frizz was eliminated to maintain the polished quality of the look, while retaining the natural character of the hair. Where required, Bumble and bumble Grooming Crème was used to refine the finish and smooth any remaining flyaways.
MÉ MÉ: GLAMOUR, ATTITUDE & THE EVERYDAY
For Mé Mé, the hair brought attitude and glamour into the everyday. The character was an office worker who has gone out for after-work drinks, followed by a three-day bender - with an indie-girl reference running through the look, elevated by couture-level cutting and tailoring. The hair was deliberately glamorous but lived-in, with a fuller, blow-dried finish that had the quality of being several days removed from its original styling.
Hair was prepped with Bumble and bumble Surf Spray and Thickening Spray to create the texture and grip required for the blow-dry. The products gave the hair body while introducing a slight tackiness, keeping the finish from becoming too polished.
Some models wore ponytails, while others featured simple twists, allowing the styling to shift across the cast while maintaining the same character and attitude.
